O nobly-born, when thy body and mind were separating, thou must have experienced a glimpse of the Pure Truth, subtle, sparkling, bright, dazzling, glorious, and radiantly awesome, in appearance like a mirage moving across a landscape in spring-time in one continuous stream of vibrations. Be not daunted thereby, nor terrified, nor awed. That is the radiance of thine own true nature. Recognize it. From the midst of that radiance, the natural sound of Reality, reverberating like a thousand thunders simultaneously sounding, will come. That is the natural sound of thine own real self. Be not daunted thereby, nor terrified, nor awed. — The Tibetan Book of the Dead, edited by Evans-Wentz
Light Becoming light is an exact science that can be verified by any scientist of the soul. In deep meditation you discover that your impatient thoughts and subconscious fears cloud the mirror of your third eye. This is why you see darkness when you close your eyes, or a color reflecting your state (your own aura).Simply sit in the stillness of your soul. Avoid trying to meditate for a specific time. Surrender, then wait, wait for the energy to wake you up. If you simply wait with no expectations, the dove of white light descends upon your inner vision. "The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye When you are drowsy, relax more but focus more into the center of your vision--whether you see darkness or light. Simply wait at the door and knock. "Like a thief in the night, when you least expect," light will burst forth. Reach the fully awake, humble, receptive state. Then dissolve the distinctions between meditative and waking states by keeping the third eye open all day. One glimpse of bright light and you are transformed from Opening the Third Eye Discover the joy of the soul beyond the pleasures and pains of the mind. Then go deeper and surrender your joy, your will, for the explosion of your whole being into light. This is sweet surrender, the giving up of what you think is amazing so that you may be present with what is within you and before you. What you think is spiritual or "the secret" is your next obstacle. This is a key insight to open the third eye. When mortals seek psychic or ecstatic experiences they eventually suffer its opposite. The average person is addicted to such stimulations. This is chasing the carrot on the stick. This brings energy up the ida or pingala via mental power--not soul strength. Eventually the seeker has an astral plane crash.By surrendering your attention into light, you float downstream with grace as your guide. You see that a life of controlled magic may bring temporal pleasures, but cannot bring lasting joy. You experience the Self filling your life with as much ecstasy and serendipity as you can handle--innocent magic. You become absorbed in the Heart (Week 6) and see all phenomena as a funny movie. The open third eye sees Everything and Nothing--at once. Some "psychics" use the third eye for personal glory and experience the psychic boomerang of their misdirected intent. They abuse the third eye by projecting onto others the lack, dis-ease, and pain hidden in their own beliefs. They have visions of astral events or natural disasters that reflect their internal turmoil. These visions usually do not materialize because many psychics are unaware of the overriding clear visions of souls creating from the spiritual planes. Psychics do not realize that it takes only a few bright lights to dissolve the limited visions of millions; and that the Way to master the future is to master the moment. Wizards gaze into the crystal ball of the eye,
Mirror, Mirror Experience the ecstasy of your soulas the bliss of your body. While meditating, notice that unconscious or unfocused thoughts push away light. Such thoughts are mirrors of limited realities. Do not analyze the thoughts or astral pictures of the thoughts. Simply relax into the brightest light of your inner vision. You strengthen your ability to live in the present by burning away the illusion of past and future. If you can hold a vision directly before your third eye in love and serenity, then it may be an inspiration from your soul. Otherwise, the visions are astral ripples clouding light. This is a treasure map. Your Heart is the gold. Try this experiment. With your third eye open, simply substitute all limiting pictures for uplifting ones. You intuitively know whether the auric picture is light and free, or a burden. Notice that you do this naturally and effortlessly when in a state of grace. This is a practical application of the open third eye, and why it is important to put spiritual growth ahead of psychic powers. With confused motivations, the power of the third eye backfires. As the kundalini ascends to the higher chakras, the more powerful become your thoughts. So be careful what you wish for. Better yet: Stay surrendered in the Heart--beyond all mirrors.
Effortless Awareness The personality resists effortless growth. Thus, the higher self must use drastic measures. Instead of leaving a job that holds us back, we stay stuck in fear (the root chakra, Week 6). We manifest a car accident or a crisis that forces us to move in the right direction. Pain becomes our only inspiration.Eventually, we listen to our inner voice and learn the easy way (Weeks 40-42). Effortless awareness is the key. The less we struggle with ego, the more energy ascends. The more we let go, the more we let God (our higher self) guide us in grace. Most people, upon seeing bright white light for the first few times, become immediately excited or overwhelmed by this purer love, and run back into the comfort of darkness. If, during meditation, we put all of our attention on the One who is meditating, then we become the light of awareness. We see that awareness is effortlessly awake, that awareness needs no support from the mind, and that only awareness creates more awareness. Thus, the more we allow ourselves to rest in the Self, the more we can accept and transform our demons. The more we feel, the more we become; When we sit at the threshold, the ego keeps the doorway closed by expectations of what the Unknown is. If we let go of expectation, we discover soul strength (Week 28). We wait in a humbled, timeless state--so the kundalini easily ascends. When we least expect, "like a thief in the night," light bursts brightly. The challenge is to practice this paradoxical merging process in our everyday world. For example, instead of pushing away every person with whom we are experiencing tension, we do all that we can to include them. And when we dearly love someone, we practice freeing them.We discover that all dualities exist in our mind. Thus, when we sit in the dungeon of darkness we do not demand light; and when light comes we do not immediately try to possess it. Imagineering After you earnestly examine thousands of books on the world's religions, philosophies, and great literature, a light may go on that says, in effect, "Each view is true, from the perspective of the dreamer. Each dreamer creates either a beautiful or a hellish reality. "We imagineer our reality whether This wisdom transforms victims of a cruel universe into bold wizards creating heavens. Instead of the subconscious trying to live out unfulfilled desires, the higher self gently leads the personality into choiceless freedom (Week 46). Nothing is as it appears to be. Imagineering is uplifting everything in your world so you may uplift yourself-and open to the flow of grace and serendipity. Imagineering is letting go and letting heaven create itself--right before you and within. Heaven can be nowhere or now--here. "Imagination is more powerful than knowledge." --Einstein Imagine a string gently pulling you up from the top of your head and aligning your spine. Then imagine that your heart is a beautiful flower with its petals fully open.Bless with love everything before you and within. Relax, enjoy, and inhale one holy breath (Week 38). With a straight but relaxed spine, an open heart, and clear vision of present reality, energy effortlessly ascends the chakras into light.Ask yourself who it is that is experiencing the light and you will become light--the Self. Imagineering heaven is a simple act of trust. As the body does not know the difference between what you see with your physical eyes or your imagination, you may as well support, energize, and share visions of grace, ease, and delight. You create your world by whatever you think about all day long. As your attention flows, so your reality goes. Mirrors that reflect your personality are all around you and within. Everything that you see or think about reveals volumes, giving you so much to grow upon.Wizards examine every mirror that life offers and ask, "What message is hidden in this experience?" Because mortals look for messages only in dramatic events, they miss many opportunities for growth. Resistance to change is their downfall. Wizards realize that life is their dream. They choose to live in a reality of infinite mirrors, with no end to the story of their growth. Wizards look into the magic mirror of creation Consider this as a possible truth: when you help someone in an unconscious way (that is, by good intentions and conventional wisdom), you do more harm than good. Perhaps you add more problems by not diving into the crazy wisdom of the Unknown (Week 52), so life presents personal problems and suffering. The greatest risk is not taking a risk. Learn the art of conscious relaxation (not laziness). This is the risky business of imagineering a life in which you do not care if your personality lives or dies. You boldly live The Great Adventure. Your powerful imagination makes this certain.
Absorption Go within—or go without. A common mystery is: Why cannot I follow my own good advice? Why am I a victim to my monkey mind? Perhaps, at the moment of action, we lose the power of our inspiration. Instead of the kundalini remaining at the third eye (the source of vision and willpower), we let energy flow to the lower chakras (the place of fear, doubt, worry, etc.).Another explanation is that we do not meditate deeply enough. How much the ego is absorbed by light during meditation determines how well we do in the world. The higher our peak during meditation, the higher will be our low point. If we cannot pierce the veil of inner darkness, then we can contemplate one divine idea or concentrate on one object. A simple exercise is to meditate with half--open eyes and gaze upon a candle flame. No matter what we do, we learn to do it well. We open the third eye until it sheds light upon everything that it gazes upon. Another exercise is to sit with half-open eyes and watch the second hand of a clock. When you reach the theta and delta states (Week 4), the hand will appear to slow down. That is when the logical mind will jump in, fire up the neurons and say, "Wow!" That is the moment the second hand will appear to speed up.When the dove of white light descends upon your inner vision, close your eyes and bathe yourself in light. |
